Derivatives Regulatory Reporting – a Five-Act Drama

The story of global regulation has had us in thrall since the global financial community committed to its implementation at the G-20 Summit in 2009.
Those involved in reporting have laughed, cried and cheered at the plot twists and turns over the past 11 years sometimes likening it to a stage play. Yet now, in 2021, some are asking, “What act are we on and when is it going to end?”

In this article I’ve looked to the world’s most famous playwright, William Shakespeare, for inspiration. All of his plays, whether comedic or tragic, consist of five acts so let’s look at the story through Shakespeare’s prism and wit:
